How to power my laptop off the cigarette lighter of my Chevy pickup?

I have a 1988 Chevrolet Scottsdale 2500 pickup and I am wondering if I can run my Toshiba laptop off the cigarette lighter. Anyone know what the AMPs are for this truck? Any help is greatly appreciated.

you can buy a power inverter, it changes you 12v DC power from your cigarette lighter to a 120v AC power, so that you can just plug in your laptop

as long as the power inverter can handle the watts that your laptop uses, you should be OK
